10 days in KL

So, we made a last minute decision to go back to KL for Xmas break.
At first, mummy was a bit hesitant as she didn't want to travel at 28 weeks, but then, she found some relatively cheap tickets and thought it would be good to go home and spend time with the family units :)

Coincidentally, my cousins were also in KL... here's a picture of me with my favourite cousin Kayley che che!!! We were pretty much inseparable throughout the whole trip!!! Daddy wanted to go for a nice 10-course dinner at a chinese restaurant...
So we chose Oriental Pavilion at Jaya 33 since it was nearby and had a good set menu.
We had dinner on the Winter solstice day, so it was a good thing we made a reservation as the restaurant was packed!!!

The next day, mummy and daddy took me to watch Puss in Boots in the cinema...

On Xmas Eve, Grandma let us open some presents!!!

The following day... grandma brought us out for some Spanish food...

Pizza Express Pizza Making Party

YAY!
Mummy and daddy decided to let me have a birthday party this year.
So, on the 19th December 2011, we booked a pizza making party at Pizza Express Stanley for me to celebrate my 4th birthday with all my friends from school!
It was a bit rush, as we went to Disney the day before, and we were flying to KL the day after!!!

Here I am... all ready to go to my party!

Mummy ordered some cupcakes for me... hehe. Here's my gear... hat, apron... check!

We also prepared goody gift bags for my friends... of course, I made sure I had one too!

It was a beautiful day, and the view from the restaurant was superb :)

Waiting for all my friends to arrive before we start making pizza! So, we did some sticker activities together :)

There were about 10 kids in total who came for the party...

Annual Disneyland Outing

Happy 2012 everyone!!! Can't believe it's a new year already! And I've got a pile of old posts to blog about!!!

This post is a little outdated... as it's about my annual birthday outing to Disneyland :)

Went to Disney on 18 Dec 2011 and since I had turned 4, mummy and daddy had to pay for my ticket... thought maybe I could still pretend to be 3 to get in for free, but daddy didn't think my "size" would be believable enough!!! Especially since it's free only for 3 years and below!!!

It's really nice to visit Disney in Dec, weather is perfect and all the Xmas decos are up!
I wore my Minnie mouse hat, Beauty and the Beast t-shirt and Mickey mouse pants!
All set to enter into the Magical world!

At the entrance, there is a HUGE xmas tree...

And we only arrived at about 2pm, so we only went on about 3-4 rides!!!

Visited the newly opened Toy Story Land... didn't do much there as the rides were slightly too advanced for me!

Headed back to the main street, as mummy had booked us dinner at Disneyland Hotel so we could dine with Mickey and his friends :)))At the hotel.... with a coin I printed from Toy Story Land, highlight of my trip!

There's a maze at the front of the hotel, but we were too tired to go walk around in it.

Didn't manage to take pics of the food, but the buffet spread was pretty good!
We did manage to meet and take photos with lotsa Disney characters thought!

After dinner, we headed back to the Park to catch the fireworks show...
It was cold at night... and the park looked so different! In a nice way!

And then it was back home for me to get some beauty sleep of my own as I had a pizza party to host the next day!

.... And I'll be turning 4!!!!!

So excited!!!

Mummy just told me that she's planning a surprise birthday party for me! :)
Actually, it's not a surprise anymore since she told me what it is.

We'll be having a pizza making party at Pizza Express Stanley!!!
The best part is, most of my friends can make it!!!
There will about 10 kids from my class who will be there to celebrate my birthday with me!

I can't wait! This is my first REAL birthday party! The last coupla times, it's just been mummy and daddy bringing a cake to school and singing me a song... blecks!

Hopefully weather will be good on that day... Looking forward to it! Mummy has lots to do to prepare for the party... Will post up pics once it's done. Gonna be busy next weekend, going to Disneyland on Sat and Sun, ,my birthday party on Mon then flying back to KL on Tuesday!

Apologies for the lack of updates, been very busy attending school interviews. Wish me luck for that!!!! I'm up against stiff competition! Very stressful for mummy but quite fun for me :)

Fun filled Halloween and Birthday weekend!!!

O hai!
This will be a rather long post as we had a weekend full of activity.

It was mummy's birthday on Halloween and both mummy and daddy were on leave so it was a long weekend for them.

On Saturday night, mummy and daddy went for a nice romantic dinner at a steakhouse in Admiralty, called Ruth's Chris.

Mummy had an 11oz fillet steak well done
And Daddy had a 12oz ribeye steak also well done

The restaurant was so sweet (no pun intended), and gave mummy a free molten choccie cake for her birthday!

Happy early birthday to mummy!

The next day, on Sunday, I decided to wear a dress with tights! What a nice surprise for mummy!

We decided to go to Wan Chai for some lunch, then we took the tram (for the first time!) to Causeway bay for my "catch catch game" time.

Managed to "catch" 2 huge jewels! Bliss!

That night, we baked some Betty Crocker instant chocolate muffins for fun, which turned out really nice!

On Monday, I finally got to wear my Halloween costume!

I chose a fireman costume... none of those Disney princess nonsense for me!

It even comes with props such as a fire extinguisher, an axe, a walkie talkie and a fire hose! Then it was off to my school for the annual Halloween party!

We're all listening to Mr Tamby's instructions on how to make a handprint ghost!

First, you use a chalk and draw the outline of your hands
(look! I'm sitting next to a policeman!)

Next, draw some ghost-like face on the handprint

And finish off by writing your name at the bottom... ta dah!

Look, mummy drew a spider on my hand for me!

That night, we went trick or treating around the Parkview compound!

Didn't realise there were so many kids in the neighbourhood! And they all made lots of effort to dress up! Even the adults! I'm a bit distracted by the sweets.... crazy amount of sweets being given out!

It was a good haul indeed, excuse my while I chew on some sweets.

Last but not least, we celebrated mummy's birthday with a small little cheesecake (coz daddy's on a diet)

Weekend outings

Twas a busy weekend for us...
Weather was looking good, so we decided to head to Stanley on Saturday.
Had a bit of drama getting dressed before going out, but finally managed to get out of the house.

Arrived at Stanley at noon, and decided to grab lunch first.
Free balloons caught my eye, so we decided to eat at Pizza Express, luckily they had a table available for us.

Then, our appetizers came... dough balls made from pizza dough!

And nice pepperoni pizza for the main course!

Then, on the way back, we decided to stop at the Tai Tam reservoir for some boat paddling!

Outing to Outlying Island - Cheung Chau

YAY, Ah Ma and Kong Kong are here to visit!

Thought it would be a good idea to visit Cheung Chau island as we've never been...

It started drizzling the moment we got into the taxi to go to the Pier.

Decided to brave the rain and go ahead with our plans.

Caught a normal slow ferry to Cheung Chau... at this point, the rain looked like it was stopping so we were all in good spirits!

Arrived at Cheung Chau, but it was still drizzling...

Not too heavy, so we were fine to walk around with an umbrella.

Saw lots of little stalls selling all sorts of dried seafood, ie dried fish, prawns, shrimps... even dried starfish!

Guess this is one of the islands main source of income :)

There was a beach (Tung Wan Beach) on the other side of the island.

We decided to check it out as we heard there was a nice restaurant in a hotel nearby.

Well, it was really windy and cold by the beach, and worse.. the rain started getting heavier!

We took shelter in the hotel and had some dim sum for lunch whilst waiting for the rain to subside...

Here we are, walking by the beach to the hotel... lots of windsurfers in the sea!

After lunch, the rain still wasn't subsiding, so daddy bought me a new raincoat :)

Multitasking and eating a fishball whilst kong kong was buttoning my raincoat.

Greedy me ate the fishball in one bite! What's new, eh.

Ahhh.. nice and warm with the rain coat on.

The buns are usually sold during the bun festival in June.

Then, we walked back to the main street and had some seafood!

Ordered some salt n pepper calamari, lettuce, bamboo clams and steamed fish... yumyumm... that was lunch no 2 for us hahah.

I was fast asleep at this stage, so no lunch for me :(

Left Cheung Chau a couple of hours later, and took the fast ferry back to Central.

Decided to stop by IFC to grab a free balloon and also check out the new Apple store.

Tons of people milling around the store!

And tons of people going upstairs to the second floor!

Not sure what the hype is? Arent't they are just selling the usual products available in any other Apple distributor store!

Headed home after that.

Still quite a good outing, despite the drizzly weather.

Hopefully I don't fall sick tomorrow~!

Long overdue post no 3

So mummy saw this interesting Groupon deal a while back, for an introduction Lego class at this place called Creative Technology Workshop (CTW).

So, she bought it since it was cheap and also close to where we live.

I went there with some trepidation, as mummy said I would need to go for the class myself and parents were not allowed in.

So, the class started and we went to our assigned teacher.
By the way, the boy sitting next to me is the same age as me! Urgh, why do I look triple his sizeee????
Anyway, the class started and the instructor started introducing us to different types of Legos... gears, axles and pulleys.
Our task, was to build a clown face with eyes and mouth that could move!
Step-by-step, the instructor would then ask us to get the right Lego from the box, and assemble our clown face.

Then, we had to paint the clown face, and cut out some holes for the eyes and mouth.

There's a little level at the side, which then turns the clown's eyes and mouth... an hour later, my invention was complete!

It was actually quite fun.

Will be going for a 2nd class in about a month's time :)

Long overdue post no 2

So, it was a nice cloudy day and mummy thought it would be a good idea to go to the beach, as it wasn't too hot.

However, it was still a sizzling 34 degrees at Stanley so we had to sit underneath a shady tree to avoid getting sunburnt!

Here we are, ready to build some sandcastles!

Ahhh ... not a bad first attempt eh!

Daddy using the "dramatic shot" mode... so everything looks gloomier than it is!

Then, we bought some bubble gun thing, and went back to our apartment podium to play bubbles!

Oooohhh.. look... bubbbbllleeeesssss!

All in all, a fun but hot day!

Long overdue post no 1

OK, so daddy bought a new camera and he's now the official photographer for my blog.
The bad news is that he has not been uploading pictures from his camera, hence there is now a backlog of overdue blog posts which mummy has to update.

First up, we had some visitors!
Aunty foong lin came to visit with baby D and uncle Calvin.

Decided to go for some dim sum in Causeway bay.
Food was so-so only, but company was great!
Nice to catch up and meet baby D for the first time =)
Baby D loves to grab stuff!

Went to the bookstore to get me some books!

In preparation for baby no 2, I am practising pushing the baby stroller around :)

Stopped by a nearby toy store... baby D fell asleep dy! Such a good baby, hopefully our baby no 2 is just as well-behaved!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival!!

Hi there!
Happy Mid Autumn Festival to family and friends!!!
Mummy's office was closed half day to celebrate the mid-autumn festival (aka mooncake festival) and it's a public holiday tomorrow as most folks stay up til midnight to observe the full moon, so the week has started off great for us!

Unfortunately, Daddy was working late so we couldn't go out to play with our lanterns tonight.

However, after dinner, we looked out of our apartment window, and saw lots of families gathered in the podium playing with lanterns and we decided to join them.

Here's my Hello Kitty battery operated lantern with flashing lights and loud jarring music!
Clearly Made in China! At the podium, looking pleased! As you can tell, I don't get to go out much hehe.

Other families enjoying themselves...

Surprisingly, not many kids were playing with the traditional lanterns, but were using glowsticks to create different types of things such as balls, hoops, bracelets, etc... so it was quite a modern affair!

Ok this was the last picture with my favourite buffalo before mummy's camera ran out of battery. Still looks a bit overexposed!

After that we headed to the in-house chinese restaurant to buy some mooncakes as we haven't had any yet this year, but they were sold out already so we just stole a small one from the BBQ buffet counter *sshhh*

Since it's a public holiday tomorrow, and mummy's feeling better these days, we'll probably go shopping for some maternity clothes for her! Her tummy is already getting very big, although baby is only 12.5 weeks... 6+ months to go before we see the new baby!!! :D

I'm no longer in Nursery, but now in Lower Kindergarten.

Luckily, most of my friends have stayed in the same school, so I saw lots of familiar faces on the first day of school :)

August happenings...

Sorry for the lack of posts this month!
Mummy has been totally out of it, she's been throwing up a lot, and sleeping even more!
Just in case you haven't heard, we're having a baby!!!

Daddy tried getting me out of mummy's hair (literally!) by bringing me to Ocean Park.
Unfortunately, he chose the one day where the mercury hit 35 degrees!

Here I am, all hot and sweaty, taking pictures with the panda!
And another picture with the Red Panda (aka the Firefox)

Because it was so hot, we couldn't stay very long... went on a couple of rides, then we had to leave :(

Luckily for mummy, popo came to visit!

She really helped take care of mummy and also kept me out of mummy's hair (again!) so mummy could rest.

On Sat night, we went out for a big family dinner.

Popo and grandpa were here, and so was Uncle Kit, Aunty Karen, Kayley, Kristian and Aunty Karen's parents! Not only that, Aunty Siew Lan and Uncle Yong were also here visiting Ah Choong!

So all 11 adults and 3 children met up for a family dinner :)

Since it was such a special occasion, I decided to wear a dress!

Playing hostess with the mostess

We had visitors this month!
Aunty Alison was in HK for a training course, so she came early to spend the weekend with us!
(Well, not just with us, think she also wanted to see HK properly)

First up, we took her to City Hall Maxim Palace for some dim sum, then walk walk walk around Central the whole day!!! Started at IFC, headed to Landmark, walked along Queens Road and ended up having early dinner at Yung Kee.

Mmm.. famous roast goose!!! :P
Walked up D'Aguilar street to check out the night scene at Lan Kwai Fong, which was quite happening on that Saturday night. Think there was some kinda beer festival.A must to take photo with the famous signboard :)

Then, whilst I was sleeping, mummy and daddy took her to the Peak for some night views!

Luckily, it was a clear day so the view was good.

Unluckily, mummy's camera was acting up so photos are not that clear!

The next day, aunty Alison checked into her hotel, which was at Mongkok!

So, we went to the nearby Langham Mall for some lunch!

Had noodles and dumplings.. my favourite :)

Since we were already on Kowloon side, we headed to Tsim Tsa Tsui for some shopping.

Followed by sightseeing at Arena of Stars.

I was fast asleep in my stroller, so no pics of me!

After that, aunty Alison was busy with her training, so I went back to my usual routine of doing nothing much.

The following weekend, aunty Alison came over to stay with us for one night before leaving for Sydney... Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as good, and it was raining.

But, the good news is that I get to wear my raincoat!!!

We headed to Causeway bay for another round of dim sum in the World Trade Centre.

Coincidentaly there was a Harry Potter display outside the mall, so we posed for a few pictures with the Hogwarts Express... daddy also tried to be matching with me by wearing a yellow raincoat too!

4D3N in Taipei - Warning: Long post ahead!!!

So, as you know from the last post, daddy was on leave last week.

As there was a long weekend coming up (HK handover to China day) , we did a spur of the moment thing and booked a holiday to Taipei!!!

Daddy bought me a Trunki suitcase! Here we are, at HK International Airport :)

Love my Trunki! (but refuse to say Thank you to daddy still!)

We have arrived in Taipei!!! Waiting for our car pick up... Turned out to be a Merc! What a great start to the holiday!Since we arrived bright and early, we checked in to the hotel and decided to go sightseeing :)

First stop, Hello Kitty Sweets at ZhongXiao FuXing.
There's a nice couch right in front!

The shop was Hello Kitty from top to bottom!

Mummy bought me this chocolate tart! It looks a lot nicer in real life!

Couldn't get a seat in the Hello Kitty cafe. We were there at 12pm and were told to come back at 4.30pm!!! Couldn't be bothered so went searching for the famous mee suah place! Ah Zhong Mee Suah!

Out of curiousity.. I decided to try it and wow, it's so yummy!

I helped mummy finish the whole bowl!!! Greedy me.

Daddy also ordered some Or Chien!

Seems like most people speak either Hokkien or Hakka in Taiwan!

After that, since the weather was nice, hot and clear day, we decided to go to Taipei 101.

Anyway... here's the view of Taipei and beyond!

Then, we went to see the Damper... some gigantic ball that keeps the tower from swaying I think!

At night, we decided to be adventurous and check out the Shilin night market (in between Taipei 101 and Shihlin we also visited the Wu Feng Pu shopping district... !!! so Kiasu, was worried it would rain the next few days (per the weather forecast) so we tried to SQUEEEZE as much into the first day as possible)

Check out the long line...!!!Bought a drink while waiting coz the weather was very hot. This drink was pretty good, some Ai Yu Lemon Jelly thing

As you can see, there's not many English signs and people only speak Mandarin, so we had quite a bit of language barrier. Mostly pointing and grunting haha.

Walked around the night market and bought these cute Egg cakes... animal shaped! This was my dinner coz there was nothing else I could eat.

The next day we were lucky to still have good weather, so we headed to the Sun Yat Sen memorial in the morning.

All pictures with both mummy and daddy are taken by ME! So, they look fat since I'm short and the camera is angled upwards haha. Too bad.

Me, with cap, sunblock, electric fan and mozzy repellent. Got bitten on day 1, so mummy got paranoid. Managed to catch the changing of the guards and the Salute.

They have a change every hour. Quite serious and solemn affair.

Can see Taipei 101. Stopped by a nice bakery round the corner, called Bread Societe. But wasn't hungry so didn't eat anything. Just enjoyed some free air con haha.

When in Taipei, think it's quite a must to visit Din Tai Fung, so we walked to the nearby branch on ZhongXiao E road. Reached at 11.30am and no queue. Left at 12.30pm , the queue was stretching to the road!!!

Mmmm... yummmieee! MY favourite!

After that, we went back to the hotel, as we had booked a tour to the North East Coast + Chiufen (an old gold mining village turned tourist attraction).

First stop, Bitou cape trail. The northeastern-most point of Taiwan... I think.I fell asleep on the way there, was a bit grumpy to be woken up.

After that, we stopped by the coast to look at some famous rock formation that supposedly looks like a bamboo shoot? Honestly, I can't really see the resemblance lor!

Then, last stop... Chiufen! Ahhh FOOD! NOW we're talking!!!

Had the famous taro ball dessert... yumyumyum! Followed by some beef noodle soup!

There were SO MANY stall selling all kinds of FOOD!

Houses by the cliffside...At night we went to a night market near the hotel, called Tong Hua Lin Jiang night market. But no picS!

Day 3, we went to Ximending.. another shopping district. On hindsight, should have gone at night. Oh well.
Saw some action... lots of reporters... and fire engines...

Turns out, the cinema burned down!

Nothing much to do, so we went to check out the National Palace Museum.

All the people we spoke to in Taipei told us NOT to take taxi, as it was quite far away and better to take a MRT to Shihlin then take taxi to the museum from there.

Argh... what a bad idea that was! From Shihlin we paid NT180 to get to the museum. We caught a taxi from the museum back to the hotel and it was NT250! Not a huge difference actually!

Motto : Just taxi everywhere in Taipei! Especially if you have a young one + stroller!!!

Anyway, not allowed to take photos in the museum, but the main attractions was a jadeite shaped like a cabbage (bak choy) and a jadeite that looks like a piece of meat and some famous paintings of landscapes lah.

All the exhibits were things belonging to the royal families.

The only part we could take photos were in the courtyard, so this is what the museum looks like from the outside. Quite grand, mountain views.

Again , taken by me, so they look fat.

In the evening, we went in search of "yu tiau" and soya bean.

I google translated the soybean.com.tw website and found a branch on FuXing South road. No. 102 I think. Very very nice!!! The dough was SO fluffy!!!!

I get to ride the MRT for free haha.

On our last day, we only had the morning, so we walked around the Taipei 101 mall.

Then off we went to the Airport.

Didn't realise the Taipei Taoyuan airport was full of Hello Kitty things!

Sadly, it was time to go back to HK. But all in all, good trip. Managed to do lots as the weather was good the whole time.

My day with Daddy

Daddy's on leave this WHOLE ENTIRE WEEK!
So, he's been spending lotsa quality time with me.

Today, I went to school from 8.30-11.30am, then daddy brought me to meet mummy for lunch at Pizza Express (stopped by the playground for 5 mins of swinging on the way to the shuttle bus stop), after that we went to Tai Koo Shing for some ice skating, then stopped by G2000 so daddy could buy some work shirts... then we went to uniqlo so daddy could buy some casual t-shirts.. daddy also bought me some t-shirts.. then went to H&M for MORE Shopping and daddy bought me a hello kitty backpack!!!

Only reached home at 6pm! Phew.. what a full on day!

And that's only DAY 1 of daddy's leave! I wonder what's in store tomorrow :D

By the way, it's last day of school this Wednesday, can't believe I've been here for 2 whole terms!!! Time flies!!!! Will be entering Lower Kindergarten in Sept! Can't wait :)

There was an event at school recently, cryptically named the "nursery student led conference".
Had no clue what it was, but Mummy was told by the teacher that parents were required to attend.

So, mummy rocked up to the school at 8.45am sharp... and waited outside my class (nursery class) whilst we got ready.

Whilst mummy was waiting outside, the teachers had setup some "activity stations" and we all had to choose one station to lead our parents through the activity.

I chose the watercolour painting activity. When it was time, I led mummy to my workstation and chose a portrait to paint.
I was going to paint "Voice of Fire" which looked the easiest one to paint hehe.

The painting was quite simple, blue-red-blue columns...
Here I am, halfway through... looking all serious hahaha....
Must remember to wash the brush before dipping into another colour!Done! You can compare my painting with the original on the right haha.. I don't think mine will sell for $1.8mn!

Nice or not? Mummy didn't know I could paint so she was quite amazed!!!

Then, we still had some time left, so I took mummy to the sand-drawing activity...

It's actually an insect bite! Yup, that dreaded insect bite which then gets infected and totally swollen!!!!

Got bitten on my eyelid and then the upper lid and lower lid got so swollen that I cudn't open my eye!

But, I'm OK! Went to see a doctor and he says it'll subside in a few days time so that's good! :D

Mummy's been waiting to get her hands on this since like forever!!! It's been sold out since Day 1 of the launch in Hong Kong, but miraculously she got her hands on one whilst just walking past the Apple store when the stock was being delivered!!!

What she didn't know.. is that she won't be getting the chance to actually USE it!
I've been hogging it everyday!!!!

Building Blocks

Hi,

Aunty Noeme had to go back to Philippines for an emergency this week, so mummy had to arrange to work from home the whole week (which made me a very happy girl) :)

We had lots of fun, mummy walked me to and from school everyday, and sneakily arranged tons of playdates for me in the afternoon so that she could get some work done!

Yesterday, we had cooking class, and I made cookies! Look :)

And here I am, trying to entertain myself since mummy couldn't play with me all the time...
Building a tower of sorts...

Oooh getting taller!!!

I am fascinated by things that are taller / larger than me... so... was trying to see how high this tower could go!

It started to get quite wobbly at the end... but managed to build it taller than me!!! Had to STRETCH to add blocks at the top!

Luckily we took this picture, coz the tower (as you can see, is not very straight), came crashing down shortly after ^_^

So... daddy the engineer built me a new, sturdier one today.. hurray! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to mummy!!!
So, daddy planned some nice things for mummy to celebrate mother's day.

First, he booked a studio for us to do some pottery yesterday.
It's called Sunflower studio I think.

We pick out a pottery item and then paint it!
Mummy picked out a mug and I was in charge of painting it... as a mother's day present to mummy!
OK, the plan was to paint a lion face on one side, and my handprint on the other side...

The lady owner had to help me with the handprint...

I chose red colour..Whacking my hand onto the mug... fun!

Ta dah! Success!

I lost focus halfway and decided to paint a piggy bank as well...

Then, TODAY, on Mother's day, daddy booked us lunch at Mijas, a spanish restaurant at Stanley beach.

Outlying Islands Outing

Hehe, long overdue post!

We decided to explore an outlying island last weekend and chose Lamma Island.
Lamma is about 40 mins by ferry west of Hong Kong Island.

It's not accessible by car and there are no cars on the island. The main mode of transportation for most folks is by bicycle or foot! How quaint!

So, we set off bright and early, and arrived in Lamma at about 11am. The place was PACKED with tourists! Lamma is famous for their cheap and good seafood restaurants, which was the main motivator for daddy to plan the trip! :P

Flowerworld Organic Farm Outing

Last Friday, my school had an outing to Flowerworld Organic Farm. As each child needed to be accompanied by an adult, mummy took the day off to go with me. She was worried there would be mosquitoes around so better to keep a watchful eye!!! Here I am, all dressed and ready to go! Photos are a bit blurry as they are taken with the blackberry. Camera charger still nowhere to be found!!! Here I am, at school! This is a recent activity that I've been working on. It's a picture of myself and my height! Do I look like my drawing? Hehe.

We were also asked to bring some baby photos to school, to talk about how much we have grown! Can you spot me???

Yay, finally we are on the bus.. Let's go!!!

It was quite sunny when we arrived, so I've got my Pluto hat on! There are sunflower plants behind me...

Too bad they will only bloom in about a month's time!!!

And it takes only 3 months for these sunflowers to go to 2metres in height!

Behind me here, are strawberry plants... there was not much to pick, so we were only allowed to pick10 each! Ceh, how little!

And then, here's the flower garden with all kinds of scarecrows!

It was snack time, so I was actually more interested in chomping down my food.

Then, it was time to plant some sunflower seeds.

We had to get our hands dirty and put the potting mix into the holes!

Then, we got to take home a dwarf sunflower plant! Hopefully mine doesn't die in my care.. ehehhe. I already dropped it once right after posing for this photo!

After that, we went to do some weeding and planted some corn!

This was my favourite part of the outing! LOL! Mummy was not too amused with my dirty pants though!

I paired up with Lucian to pluck it.

We had to push the corn down, then twist it until it popped out!

As you can see, I'm taller than the 4 year old boys in my class (smug)...

Tokyo - Earthquake post

Hi there!!! Have not blogged for so long! A few things have contributed to that, namely... 1. Mummy can't find her camera charger so she has no camera and has to resort to taking photos with her blackberry so no nice picture quality to post 2. Popo and Ah mah + kong kong came to visit so no time to blog 3. Mummy got stuck in Japan during the earthquake so was too traumatised to blog 4. Mummy has been busy at work so no time to blog. Anyways, now that things have quietened down and we're back to our boring routine, I can blog again!!! First up, mummy wants to hog my blog to talk about her trip to Tokyo. She was there from 7 to 11 March. so she had time to do some sightseeing in Tokyo before the quake struck when she was enroute to the airport. she was there for work, she didn't have much time to go out, but she did manage to see Ometosendo, Harajuku and Shibuya! The day she arrived in Tokyo, it snowed!!! How strange, considering it was March and about to be Spring... maybe a sign of the disaster to come? Here's the view from the airport bus heading to the airport... snow on the side of the road! By the time mummy arrived at the hotel, it was dark already! Takes 2 hours to get from Narita airport to the hotel. Here's the view from her room.. nice hor!

And the hotel is situated next to the Tokyo Tower... nice views.

Next door to the hotel, is a quite famous temple called Dojoji temple which she didn't have time to visit.

Across the road from the hotel, is the Atago Mori tower - where the BAT office is conveniently located. 10 minutes walk each way. But it was very cold to walk - about 5-10 degrees everyday!

Anyway, mummy went to Ometosando on her first night... managed to navigate the subway all by herself in a foreign land! Very clever! It was a very classy shopping district with pretty buildings!

Then, another night, she went to Shibuya to look at the famous intersection. More affordable and trendy shopping! But too bad no time to shop.

Managed to find the famous crepe shops along Harajuku's Takeshita lane!

And then, when mummy was on the bus on the way to the airport, the earthquake struck.

She got on the bus at 2pm and the quake struck at about 2.45pm...

There was a huge billow of smoke behind the bus, from buildings which were on fire. There were also cracks on the highway and the lampposts were swaying from the aftershocks so the driver had to pull over on the side of the highway until things were calmer.

She only arrived at Narita at 8pm.

It was chaotic, but still orderly at the airpot.

Staff were handing out food and water, blankets, sleeping bags, etc.

All flights were cancelled for the night, so mummy had to sleep over at the airport!!!

Lots of other people in the same situation, but everyone was very polite and there was no clamouring or pushing for anything.

Luckily- mummy managed to get a flight out the following night, and arrived back in HK safe and sound. What an experience!!! :)

Finally! I can sleep in peace!

First day of CNY today! Gong Hei Fatt Choy!

Per tradition and chinese beliefs, we wore new clothes, in pink / red for good luck!

Do you like my new cheongsam?

Since we didn't have any open houses to visit, we headed to Ocean Park instead!

The park was fully decorated in red, the auspicious colour for Chinese New Year.

We took a picture with the "choy san" - God of Prosperity, and received a "lai see" - red packet in return :)

Then, when we headed home, just in time to watch the lion dance performance in our building!

Collected another red packet from another Choy san walking around :)))

Err.. look at my tongue (just ate chocolate which was in the red packet)

The lion dance troupe were really nice, they let the kids take turns wearing the "lion" but I was too scared to try!

The lion did all sorts of acrobats, pretty cool for my first lion dance experience!

Finished off with some new year greeting written on a long scroll!

Ahhh, puting my feet up after a long day out, with some new additions to my toy collection!

Mummy won me a "choy san" monkey and bunny at Ocean Park, yippie :)

Hello,

It's been awhile since I blogged.

Reason being, mummy's started getting busier at work, and haven't had time to sort out the photos (all taken from daddy's new ipod touch!)

So, this post has been put together rather haphazardly, I'll just compile all the recent happenings into 1 blog!

Remember how I said I chose a HUGE present from Disneyland for my Birthday... well, here's the reveal! It's actually a BIG MINNIE MOUSE!!! It's bigger than me! LOL!

And, here I am, goofing around with mummy in Ikea, playing with some CNY-themed cushions and slippers (we ended up buying all these items because I left them in the shopping bag and daddy paid for it hehehe).

And just last week, we went to the CNY Fair in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, Again mummy and daddy got suckered to buy lots of (useless) toys for me!

I got some balloons, cushions and some CNY snacks!

Anyways, just wanted to wish all at home a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! Gong Hei Fatt Choy, San Nin Fai Lok! Hope the Rabbit Year brings good things to all of us!

We'll be missing everyone back home!!!

Yes, a bit late, I know, but it's all mummy's fault!
She's started a new job on 5th January, travelled to London for a week, came back to sick ol me and finally has gotten the routine back to normal!

Let's see... what did we do? We went back to KL for Xmas and it was a WONDERFUL, RELAXING trip!!! I managed to spend lots of time with Popo, Grandpa, Ah Mah and Kong Kong! The icing on the cake was to also see Kayley and Kristian in KL! Oh and Uncle Kit and Aunty Karen too , of course :)))

I had so much fun, that I was so SAD to leave!!!! Been asking Mummy when we can go back to Malaysia again!!!! Probably not anytime soon, boo hoo.

Anyways, it's a NEW YEAR!!!! And January is almost over!!! Time flies when you're having fun.

Since I've come back, it's been back to school, new term is here. I've grown a bit, I'm now 17kgs and 100cms tall. I'm a little fatty now!!! Mummy had to buy me some new jackets as the old ones were not quite warm enough for the rather extreme HK winter this year!

Haven't done much, so no pictures to post up.

Planning to go bed-hunting this Saturday. Hopefully can buy me a new bed! I've rolled off my cot a couple of times already! Like I said, I'm a little fatty now!

Also, Chinese New Year is just around the corner!!! Planning to go to the local markets and buy some festive decorations for the house. Maybe some pussy willows, etc :)

It's a 3-day public holiday here, so I will be able to enjoy lots of time with mummy and daddy at home!!! Probably try to bake some CNY cookies, or maybe just wait for Popo to bring some over hehehe.

Happy Birthday to me... Happy Birthday to me... Happy Birthday to meeeee.... Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Yayy.. mummy says she'll buy me a new bed for my birthday! No more squeezing with all my toys anymore weeee! So, my birthday coincidentally fell on the last day of school term, and there was an Xmas party planned at school, so mummy told the teachers that we would bring a cake to school to celebrate my birthday with all my friends.

Since mummy had to go to work on my birthday to settle some Very Important Matters, and aunty Noeme had gone back to the Phillipines, it was up to daddy to take care of me.

So, daddy went all the way to town to get me a Hello Kitty cake and brought it to school for the Xmas party!
Yay, hijacked the Xmas party and made it my birthday party! hehehe.

Sorry for the lack of updates, mummy's been busy with work!
Last Saturday, one of my school friends had a Xmas playdate at his house...
So I went, bringing with me freshly baked mini cupcakes (forgot to take pics though!)

It's a Nespresso machine! So mummy can get her caffeine dose before she goes to work :)

Ahh, it's December, my favourite time of the year!

This year, mummy and daddy decided to get a Xmas tree to decorate the house in a more Xmas-sy spirit!

Being lazy, they purchased a fiber optic tree with ready lit balls!

I still got the chance to hang some decorations, as they bought some extra ones! :)

Oooh... my first Xmas tree! *rubs hands in glee*

The malls are also decked with Xmas decos, guess you can never be too early to get full mileage of the tree!

Mummy offered to bring cupcakes for an upcoming Xmas party at my friends house recently.

Having NEVER baked before in her life, she thought it wise to just buy an instant mix.

Check it out, comes with the cake mix, the icing, heart sprinkles and the cake cups!
HKD40 per box, makes 12 cupcakes.. what a steal!

Figured, it would be prudent to do a trial run and test out the cupcakes before the actual event.

Hehe, didn't take any photos of the mixing process, but ta-dah... here's the final product!

Considering we didn't have a proper electric mixer, I think it turned out pretty well :)

My topic is totally unrelated to the post, but it will help to explain why the my right cheek is swollen and twice the size of the left one in all the photos you see below :(

Ah mah, kong kong and aunty peg jee were here for a visit, so the weekend was packed with a touristy itinerary.

We started the day off with dimsum at Jumbo kingdom, a floating restaurant in Aberdeen. It's quite cool, as we get to sit a little ferry to get to the restaurant.

Here we are, bright and early at the pier!

The food was good, and bookings are recommended as the place was packed full of tourists (by the tour bus loads)!!!

Halloween Post - Part 3

Hi!
To finish off the final post of our Halloween trilogy, we decided to celebrate mummy's birthday by going to The Peak for dinner!

I thought I would spice up my costume with some devil horns...

Roarrrh... be afraid, be VERY afraid Daddy!

Mummy made dinner reservations at Bubba Gump Shrimp coz it sounded relatively family friendly, and please note the word "relatively"... details later.

We have arrived at the Peak! Inside the Peak Galleria there was a mini display of... "The History of Dim Sum" LOL!

Only in Hong Kong eh!

Decided to camwhore with some cute dim sums!

Spotted some humongous Mickey and Minnie mouse balloons outside this shop... tempted me to be suckered in to touch!

Here we are, waiting for our table at the restaurant...

The night was still young, because the only dinner reservation slot available was 5.30pm!!!

I scored a free balloon with my fairy charms, yay!

Shrimp platter - shrimp done 4 ways : coconut shrimp. tempura shrimp, popcorn shrimp and normal boiled shrimps!

Last but not least, shrimp stuffed with crab meat, on a bed of rice.

We were stuffed by the end of the meal! (No pun intended)

Mummy had Mid-Levels envy again.

Suddenly... I noticed that the waiters were wearing scary costumes!

There was one really scary waiter which totally spooked me out!

The relatively family friendly environment quickly dissipated and I insisted, no ... I wailed to be removed from the scene immediately!

Mummy tried to pacify me by letting me sit on her lap... nope, didn't work.
Still scared, so I decided to just stare out the window.

Still terrified.. I don't wanna look up.

Scared scared...

Sad face... me, not mummy!

In the end, we had to skip desert and "run" out of the restaurant.. hehe pun intended!

Daddy thought it was wrong not to have a birthday cake, so he went out later that night to get some from the nearby bakery...

Halloween Post - Part 2

Hi!!! Here's the 2nd part of my Halloween post.

The Parkview management (where we stay) held its annual Charity Bazaar on Halloween Day.

What better way than to start the day with performances, games, live music and yummy stall food! By the way, it was also mummy's birthday on Halloweens but more on that in part Three of this Halloween trilogy!

Halloween Post - Part 1

Hi!!!
As you may or may not know, Halloween is a really big thing in HK... it's practically a month long affair in terms of celebration and all that.

So, my school had a Halloween party for the kids as well!
I told mummy I wanted to go as a fairy... AFTER mummy had already bought me an angel costume.
The end result: Fairy Angel costume! LOL.

Have not blogged for 10 days! *Gasp*!
Been busy settling into our new place, and all that!

Since we're still relatively tourists in this SAR (not sure if HK is considered a country?), we took a trip to Stanley Beach over the weekend.

The weather was a balmy 27 degrees, and YES, I was overdressed thanks to mummy!
Anyways, Stanley Beach is the beach right next to its more famous neighbour - Repulse Beach.

It's approximately 20 minutes by taxi, so it's not too far!

Here I am, posing next to these puffer balls, hoping that mummy would buy me one with my puppy dog face, but my attempt failed! Sheesh, it's only 10 bucks , mummy!

Week 4: Of Grandma's Visit, School and Settling In!!!

Here's an update on how Week 4 in HK is going...

But first, some important facts to note / celebrate:

1) I'm 100000% toilet trained!!! *jumps for joy, swells with pride*

2) I no longer cry at school (actually have not been crying since week 1 lah)

3) I've started sleeping by myself *sigh of relief from mummy*

OK, now.. Let's talk about week 4 in the Fragrant Harbour land...

Well, first up, Grandma's here for a visit!
And she came bearing gifts in the form of Disney clothes! Weee.. I've got everything from Snow White to Minnie Mouse! Check out the new outfit below.. Thanks Grandma Popo!!! :)

Next, I received my FIRST homework from school. Mandarin lesson - collect pictures of Noses (is this the right plural for Nose?), it's called Bi in chinese. As usual, super competitive mummy has already done it (with my help of course) even though it's not due til next week!!!!

And today, 15 Oct - there was a special event at my school! International Fair Day. We were asked to dress up in our national costume and we were given a Passport each. We then had to visit different coutries booth to collect our passport stamp and also to understand more about the different cultures and activities.

Here I am, in my chinese costume with pigtails to match! Haha.

First up, we visited China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea!

There were all sorts of activities like calligraphy, and lots of local food to eat, ie dumplings, rice cakes, mochi, etc.

Then, we headed to the EU. Visited Greece, France, Germany, Swiss, Netherlands!

Then, we headed to Latin America - Brazil. Here I am, getting a stamp on my passport!

We met up with mummy's friend for some dim sum at Dragon King in World Trade Centre...

After that, we headed to Windsor House for some shopping, managed to score some Sesame Street T-shirts for HKD40 each *AUD5!* Nice or not?! Hehe...

New Discovery...

Ohai!We discovered a little indoor playroom in the complex yesterday for 4 year olds and below! That's me! Woo hoo!

It's called a Jungle Gym I think... and the best part, is that it's FREE! Woo hoo again!

Ever since I went to school, I'm not as shy anymore and I was brave enough to venture into the play area by little own self and explore the whole area!

My favourite was the ball pit! I think it was mummy's favourite too when she was young-er.

Looks like mummy will be bringing me here VERY OFTEN! *hint hint* :)

Quick update - I didn't cry when mummy dropped me off at school today!!!
I gave a teary goodbye and was fine after that :)

Also, I'm almost 100% toilet trained!
Yippieee... money saved from nappies = More toys for me!!!!

As for our furniture, it's only arriving on the 12th and it will still need 3-4 days to clear customs... #$%^#$%~!

So Popo will need to stay with us in the serviced apartment... Sorry, popo!!!

There are 24 kids in my class, and daddy cleverly noticed there are only 6 girls! Weird huh!

There's also Doug the Hamster in my class - Hi Doug!

So, here's the outcome.

I sobbed the whole 3 hours I was there on the first day.

On the second day, I cried when mummy dropped me off, but only for a few minutes and then I was (apparently) very good the rest of the time!

Will see how I go on the third day... hopefully it'll get easier as time goes by :)

Also, weather is finally getting a little cooler, 25 degrees today.

Still waiting for our furniture to arrive so we can move into our new home!!!!

Second week in Hong Kong... Sick, sick and sick!

Well, looks like the air pollution , humidity, change in weather, stress from toilet training etc etc finally got the better of me!

I came down with a fever, cough and flu last Saturday, and the fever keeps recurring every 2-3 days!

Have gone to the nearby GP but Doctor doesn't seem too concerned. Mummy almost had a heart attack when she saw the cost of a doctor's consultation here.. $400! And another $400 for medicine!!! And another $400 for a follow up visit!!!! #$%#$^! (Luckily it's covered by Daddy's medical LOL, shouldn't have taken good old Medicare for granted in Sydney).

Anyway, I'm still sick, it's been a week, and I'm still coughing really badly. Last night I was coughing for a good half hour non-stop! I don't think the medicine is working at all, everytime I take it I get a bad nose bleed. So mummy's gonna revert to some good old fashioned medication - honey, lemon and barley... Hope it works!

Unfortunately, daddy has fallen prey to my germs. He too, fell sick on Monday and is still sick now! He's been on medical leave this whole week! Luckily *touch wood* mummy is fine and is able to take care of all of us.

Also, our new Helper has joined the family! Her name is Noeme (pronounced like do-re-mi) and she has also been taking really good care of me. Will post up a pic of her soon.

HOPE I GET WELL BY THIS WEEKEND. Otherwise I can't start school next Monday!
It's a public holiday in Hong Kong today to commemorate China's National Day, and it's also the start of China's Golden Week holidays.

P/S - Any good recipe suggestions for a flu, grandmas? Mummy have been making chicken soup and porridge, not sure what else I should be eating!?!?

First few days in Hong Kong - updated with photos :)

I thought it best to start detailing what we've done over the last few days in Hong Kong.

We arrived on Saturday night, the 18th of September and I was pleased that the serviced apartment was really really nice.
Took a shower, walked my "dog" (nb: daddy's headphones) around and then went to bed!

Here's a picture of our serviced apartment, its a spacious and luxurious 2 bedroom apartment and the housekeeping unit cleans it every single day!

So different from our last week in Sydney where we stayed at the Medina where they only clean once a week! On a daily basis they just make the beds and replace the towels!

The next day, we woke up bright and early and went to explore the city! Daddy needed a hair cut to look nice for his FIRST day at work, and also needed some new work clothes. We just tagged along for the ride.

We spent the whole day walking around Causeway Bay, starting from Times Square, hopping over to Sogo then finishing up at Jardines Crescent. Phew... so tiring!

Then, on Monday, there was a typhoon warning (typhoon Fanapi) so it was POURING buckets of rain... the rain only stopped on Wednesday, so - you guessed it - stayed at home most of the time. Had to go out briefly to do some errands on Tuesday, ie apply for our HKID card, interview the potential helper, open our HSBC bank account,.. sigh, I got drenched!

Wednesday evening, which was the eve of Mid Autumn Festival, we went to check out the Lantern festival at Victoria Park.. and discovered more little shops around Causeway Bay, ie Island Fashion and Windsor House (they have a Toys R Us in here!!!)

Thursday, was the Mid Autumn festival.. so it was back to Causeway Bay for more shopping and eating. We also popped by Ikea to buy furniture for our new helper (the one we interviewed). Her name is Noeme and she'll be starting next week! At night, we hopped on the MTR to Tsim Tsa Tsui to get daddy a new laptop bag from Crumpler @ Silvercord.

Then today, mummy brought me to the local pre-school called PIPS to enrol me for Kindy year 1 (K-1 as they called it). Sadly, I'll be the only kid in the class who is not fully toilet trained yet, but mummy is optimistic I'll be fine by the time I start (at least, that's what she keeps reassuring the staff there LOL)... So far, I'm quite good at using the toilet for a no. 1 - it's the no. 2 that's a bit harder for me :(

Nice or not my uniform??? Had to buy size 6 coz the size 4 was a bit tight!!! *shy*

Anyways, we have to go now to meet the curtain guy, he's going to help put some curtains in our apartment. Today, we will be selecting fabrics and colours for the room! How exciting!

Further Update: After selecting curtains, we stopped by the Playground and the air was so fresh and crisp!

Sorry my dear readers,

I've been neglecting this blog for a little while as I've just moved to Hong Kong and I'm still trying to settle into the new lifestyle and routine.

Homeless!

Our house has been leased!
It had its first inspection today and a firm offer came in within the hour!

Our tenant will be starting the lease on the 18 September so we'll officially be homeless then!
Bye Bye Home... I hope that the tenant will take good care of you!

What an easy job for the real estate agent! And for us too! One less thing for us to worry about now ;)

P/S Mummy just spent the last 2 hours removing all the child proof locks from all the drawers and doors, her fingers are so sore now! These child proofing things sure don't come off easily!

We had a "early" Father's day celebration last night for Daddy.
Opted for some German food at Bavarian Bier Cafe in the Entertainment Quarter :)
