My overdue post of our Hunter Valley trip

Thanks to mummy being away in PNG for a whole week, there was no one to help me update my blog!!!

I wanted to show you photos of our 3D2N Hunter Valley trip over the Easter long weekend.

We stayed at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley (forgot to take pics though!) in a huge 3-bedroom villa overlooking the golf course.

Visited several wineries, but really couldn't tell the diff between the A$16 bottle of wine and the A$100 bottle!!!

First stop, wine tasting at McGuigans... !

Daddy acting childish as usual!

Mummy trying to do artistic shot but fail!

Family pics!

OK enough of the McGuigan barrels...

On to another winery nearby... can you spot Kong kong examining the grape-less vineyards and me grinning like a Cheshire cat???

Mummy teaching me how to do the "peace" sign when taking photos:

Ermm... oops, I think I did the "OK" sign instead!

Let's try it again... only this time mummy's the odd one out! Even daddy is getting with the program - doing the "OK" sign!
At Potters Brewery - the only microbrewery in town!

Erm, hopefully daddy doesn't get struck by lightning for this pose!

Had some good food at several nice restaurants, in particular - Restaurant Cuvee at Petershams wine estate.
Very romantic, got nice expansive view of their vineyards in the background.

Followed by some true blue aussie BBQ for dinner!~
Can you spot the chef ? Hint: It's not the one wearing the canggih apron!

On the last day, we tried to go to Harrigans Irish Bar for some pub grub after reading about it on some food blog, but we were too early and they weren't open for lunch yet!!! So we took some photos outside and made our way back to Sydney!

Here's a grimace smile from me!

Oh, throughout the trip we also drowned ourselves in all kinds of cheese!!! From fetta to labna to brie and some kinda goats cheese!

Kong Kong, Aunty Peg Jee and Daddy worked off all the cheeses devoured by playing tennis everyday, whilst I spent my time in the bubbly jacuzzi with mummy~
Will be off to Melbourne this coming weekend to visit the Grandparents and Aunty Peg Jee... Hopefully the weather holds up! It's been nice and warm and sunny the last couple of weeks! :)

Royal Easter Show

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is held once a year at the Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush Bay.

This is actually my 2nd time to the Royal Easter Show, but really it's my first experience coz I was sick and fast asleep the last time mummy and daddy brought me to the Show.

After a long one hour drive there... we headed first to the must-see Woolworths Fresh Food Dome which showcases fresh food and also the fruit displays...

Freshly shucked oysters:
Some bakery stall:
Chocolate dipped strawberries:

Fruit and vege displays from around the States:

Ah Mah took me on a train ride on this Thomas look alike train...

Then, off to see Noddy, the world's tallest horse. He was a little bit spooked, so we had to go into the stable to see him.

Hi Noddy!
After that, we went to visit the rest of the animals.. I saw a big large sheep having his wool sheared, and also the goats, pigs, and alpacas!

Didn't take many photos coz busy running around like a headless chicken...
So that's all folks! :P

Hunter Valley post coming up next!

My Fine Dining Experience

Hai everyone! Sorry for the late post. Been busy during the Easter break. Back now!

As far as I can remember, I don't think mummy and daddy's actually been brave enough to take me out for dinner to a fine dining restaurant, either because I'm usually sleepy around dinner time or they're too afraid that I may "cause a scene".

I must admit, I do get fidgety quite easily, and have a tendency to grab everything and anything that is within my reach on the table.

So, when Ah Mah, Kong Kong and Aunty Peg Jee came to visit, mummy decided to brave it, and go for some nice food + early dinner @ Cafe Sydney.

Cafe Sydney is located inside the Customs House on Alfred Street, which is quite a unique place.

They've got a miniature replica of Sydney city under this floor that we're standing on!

The restaurant is on the top (5th) floor...
Despite feeling unwell, mummy still enjoyed herself thoroughly! Surprisingly, Cafe Sydney is a very baby-friendly establishment. They've got high chairs and colouring activities to keep the little ones (ie ME!) happy! Great staff as well, very attentive to our every need :)
The view from the restaurant was spectacular. Couldn't see the Opera House, but great view of the Harbour Bridge! Managed to catch the sunset, thanks to the early dinner timing slot!

Bridge pre-Sunset:

Bridge post-Sunset. The picture turned out quite awesome using the "low light" function on mummy's new camera (Canon S90)

After dinner, we took a walk around Circular Quay to snap some pictures with the Opera House.

All in all, a great night! Oh, there's some pictures of the food, if you're interested...
Aunty Peg Jee had some prawn dish with gnocchi:

Mummy had the Jewfish dish:

Daddy and Kong Kong had the twice roasted pork belly with some poached pear thing:

And Ah Mah had the tenderloin:
We also had a variety of appetizers, but the pictures doesn't really do the food justice, so I won't post it here!
More posts to follow on our Hunter Valley weekend away, stay tuned!
