Pauls Famous Hamburgers @ Sylvania

After reading this post from Not Quite Nigella, mummy decided she wanted to get herself some!

Considering we don't live very far from Sylvania, we headed south to the Shire to check out these famous burgers! Apparently they were rated best burger in the state!
We have arrived!!!
Super efficient assembly line... there was a long queue but mummy got her burger within minutes!
It pretty much lived up to mummy's expectations!

She had the burger with everything except pineapple... mmm.... nom nom nom :P~
Close up of the burger:
The burger patties were crispy on the outside, a bit like a Ramly burger, except got Bacon hehehehe.
Smiling for the camera!

Digging in!!!!Yummm.. !!!

Woo hoo! Mummy can sit back and relax whilst daddy drives us around now :)

I want to ride my bicycle...!

Not sure if I mentioned before, but mummy and daddy bought me a tricycle coz my bicycle's a bit too big for me to handle.
This one comes with a push-stick so mummy or daddy can push me along while I cycle...

It's fun! I love it :)

This was taken at Bondi Junction yesterday, temperature was about 40 degrees, so I was skimpily dressed.

This was taken today, at Broadway.
Temperature fell to 22 degrees in one day! It's some crazy weather!
I am wearing a hat that came free with today's newspaper, sempena Aussie Day next Tuesday 26 Jan.

Smiling for the camera!

Went for brekkie today, at this cafe in Newtown which had HUGE massive servings.
Even Daddy couldn't finish his omelette, it was THAT BIG!

The omelette was made from 4 eggs, and topped with sausage and some hash browns, salad, toast, mushrooms, tomatoes.. and beneath it, there was bacon lining the edges of the omelette!!!

Mummy opted for the french toast which also came with bacon, I stole some of mummy's bacon... mmm.... yummy!!!!

Whilst daddy was enjoyin his meal, I was clinging to mummy... SKED!

Of this statue that was next to our table!!!!!

OK, here's another pic of me looking scared, I was kinda in this position the whole time we were there!!! *shy*

On a side note, mummy needs to get a new camera! Her ancient camera really cannot make it already. The picture quality is really bad!!!!

Still toying between a point-and-shoot, semi-automatic or DSLR! Le sigh, decisions decisions!

Eveleigh Markets

It was a bright Saturday afternoon, and mummy had just read about the Eveleigh markets from an Aussie food blogger, Grab Your Fork... so we decided to go check it out for ourselves...
Boy, were we glad we did!
It is such a cool market, its undercover so you can visit it rain or shine, and there's tons of foods to sample!!!
I was crying in this photo, can't remember why!
Do you like daddy's new hat? He bought it from the Entertainment Quarters farmers markets.
Me with mummy at the entrance to the markets.... ** excited **
Lots of people milling around... sampling the goodies galore!

Can you spot me!?!?Hello, I'm waving!!!

Bread from Sonoma bakery.
Locally grown strawberries
And nectarines ad plums... we bought a punnet of plums for $3 and it was SO sweet! And the pit was so tiny! Like the size of a 5 cent coin only!!!
Macadamia butter... tastes like peanut butter but healthier!
Cheeses, anyone?
We ended up buying some sweets from Sweetness the Pattiserrie, some dried zucchini chips, plums and some tasty cheese!
Would have bought more, but most of the shops don't give out plastic bags, and we didn't bring our own carry bags, so we only bought what we could carry in mummy's handbag...
We'll make it a point to come back for more next week!!! :)

Day trip to Wollongong

The plan was to make a day trip to Wollongong over the New Year's weekend...
Mummy, as usual, started fussing over the weather forecast.
Weather forecast on Saturday morning:
Saturday - Possible thunderstorms in the afternoon

Sunday - Cloudy

Based on that, we decided to wait until Sunday to make the trip.. boy oh boy, was that a mistake...
.
.
.
.
Because, it actually didn't rain at all on Saturday until close to midnight, and then the rain carried over to Sunday...

Here's a pic of the weather on Saturday - at the National Botanic Gardens, nice and sunny!

Here's a pic of us at Wollongong, windy and cloudy... luckily it stopped raining by the time we got there!!!

We couldn't do a lot of the touristy lookouts as it was a bit too foggy, so we decided to check out the beach at North Wollongong and have some tasty seafood!
Highlight of the trip - the Seafood Platter @ Lagoon Restaurant!!!!
Close up of the platter (hot & cold combination platter):
Hot seafood platter consisting of Lobster mornay, Oyster Kilpatrick and Mornay, Scallops, pan fried Moreton Bay Bugs, tempura battered fish, calamari, BBQ octopus and prawns!!!

Cold seafood platter consisting of smoked salmon, blue swimmer crabs, fresh oysters, prawns, mango and strawberries!

Me playing with the bucket for the discards...
The platter was for 2, but it was huge enough for mummy daddy and popo to share!
They licked the plate clean, it was so yummie!!!!
I entertained myself by "cooking" some fish and feeding it to mummy!

Final picture of us, with the Christmas tree!

Then, it was time to take the long drive home to Sydney.... with which I happily snoozed in the car!

Happy 2010!!!!

Edit: Apparently the crocodile that we saw in the wildlife world is one of the largest saltwater crocs held in captivity! It weighs over 700kgs!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Can't believe we're in a new decade already!!!

Due to my love of Koala Bears, mummy decided to bring us to the Sydney Wildlife World @ Darling Harbour!

However, I started getting scared when I saw the posters outside showing pictures of crocodiles and other creepie crawlies...
In fact, we almost didn't go in until the kind staff gave me a little possum toy to cheer me up!

This was my scared face when going through the spiders and snakes section! We pretty much whizzed past this section.

Then, this was my petrified sulky face when we reached the crocodile section!
See how buoyant the crocodile is?
From the surface, you can hardly see it, but it's there, ready to pounce!

Crocodile, sinking to the bottom.
Just a bit of trivia, crocodiles do not need to come up for air, they can actually slow their heartbeat from 40beats per minute, to just 1 beat per 2 minutes, that way they can camp underwater and when they detect movement (fish, humans swimming, etc) they will pounce!
They can swim at speeds of 15kmh, don't pray pray!

OK enough of crocodiles.. moving along...
Ahhh, finally! The koala bear and kangaroos section!!! Yay!!!!

Look, the koala bears are sleeping! Apparently they sleep 20 hours a day due to their un-nutritious diet of eucalyptus leaves! So they need to conserve energy! That's why koalas are very lazy creatures.

Here's one, munching on the leaves! Bit more trivia, koalas have 2 thumbs! It provides them a better grip when climbing!

Here's the Kangaroo territory...

The kangaroo looks dead when asleep! I was concerned!

Look, his paw is still upright!

To finish the post, here are our resolutions for 2010:

Daddy - To lose 10kgs in the next 3 months (not sure whether this is realistic or not)

Mummy - To pass all her CIMA exams and get a permanent job, and be a better mummy to me!

Me - Learn to ride my bicycle and improve my motor skills!

What new year's resolutions do you have? ;P

Boxing Day @ Harbour Kitchen

It was a wet and rainy Boxing Day, but mummy had already made reservations at Harbour Kitchen @ the Rocks, to make up for the lack of food we had on Xmas day...

So we decided to brave the rain and go into the city...

Mummy bought me a new dress to wear!

Opera House in the backdrop..

Mummy's salmon dish

Daddy's prawn dish

And Grandma's steak

It was quite a nice lunch, but portions were a bit small for the hefty price tag!
Probably not something we will be doing that often :)

Didn't take any other pictures outdoors, due to the rain!

On a separate unrelated note, I arranged all my toys in a row... how cute!
