Happy August!

Hello!
Happy August everyone!
I haven't been updating this blog for awhile because there's not been much to blog about.
Yesterday we met up with Aunty Yvonne... but didn't take any pictures because mummy didn't bring her camera.
It was SO good to catch up and chit chat like old times!!!!

I also had the chance to impress Aunty Yvonne with my suite of songs!
Later that night, we went for some Malaysian food at Aseana Food Village in Randwick.
I like the old school Kopitiam setting :)

Check out the menu filled with South East Asean delights!!!

Daddy had some Htaw Baht rice thing from Burma, and mummy had the Nasi Lemak!

Looks good? My little paws were reaching in for the hard boiled egg when mummy was taking this pic!

The end!

Good Food and Wine Show

Mummy and daddy took me to the Good Food and Wine show held at Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour today.

I was still nursing a fever, but managed to act excited!!!
Agreed to sit in my stroller to conserve my energy hehe.
About to experience gastronomical delights!
The ticket to the show also includes a session in the Celebrity Theatre - we had the Matt Moran one.

Samplings galore!!!!
Family pic with daddy!
Inside the Celebrity theatre..

Building up the anticipation for Matt Moran's appearance...

Finally! The man himself! Chef and owner of 2-hatted restaurant Aria in Sydney!
He also has a farm and rears lamb!
Poor me, quite traumatised when he butchered the lamb!!!!

Bought his book for book signing and to meet him in person!
Daddy's such a sucker for these things :P

The book was made out to me!!!

Another famous celebrity chef doing cooking demo! It was so crowded that we couldn't see what he was cooking! This was taken at 9x zoom ok!

Daddy's goodies from the show!

Ate the peking duck pancakes for dinner... nom nom nom!

Hehe hopefully we can try some of his recipes :P

By the way, I've updated the photos for my previous post... go see!

Sunday fun!

What a fun Sunday! 2 new experiences for me today! First up, went to watch Toy Story 3 in the cinema. Mummy was amazed that I managed to sit still for the whole entire movie!!! Then, at night, we went for 7 course degustation dinner at Rise restaurant. Pictures to follow soon, late now, have to go zzzz....

Update! Mummy's finally had the chance to upload the pictures from the dinner!!!

The mandatory mummy-daughter shot!

The degustation menu for the night - Omakase special selection!

Owner / Chef Hideki Okazaki hard at work - we blinded him with the flash when taking this photo hehe.
Mummy brought things to distract me, erm, which didn't really work!

Nice or not my colouring!??
I didn't get the brief that I was meant to colour within the outline!

Course 1: Tofu thing with braised chicken
Course 2: Mussel and ravioli thing in tomyam soup (nice!)

Course 3: Sashimi
Course 4: Trio of ocean trout, chawan mushi thing and rice paper rolls (which daddy already devoured half before mummy could take this photo!)

Course 5: Tempura prawn on some polenta thing.

Course 6 (main course) - Duck

Course 7: Very yummy dessert!!!
As for me, I had rice @ Rise .... punny or not?
Fan tong attacking the rice!!!
All done! Slurps!

Aaahhh so nice to have a nice dinner out! :)

Beating the Winter Blues

As you know, I haven't been well the past 2 weeks!

The good news is, I'm much better! No more fever and cough, only a little bit of runny nose.

I think it helps that I'm in family day care and not a child care centre, as I do get better care there and there are less kids so less chances of getting new germs!

This winter has been really cold so far!
Last week was recorded as being the coldest Sydney June day in the last 27 years!!!!

So, we decided to lose the winter blues by hitting the ice! - Skating rink that is :)

Here I am, getting ready to leave the house... gloves - check, scarf - check, big smile / grimace - check!

As part of the winter festival, there is a temporary ice staking rink in the City, right outside St Mary's Cathedral...

Which provides a stunning backdrop!

I wanted to try my hand (or legs?) at ice skating but mummy was too chicken to go with me, so we just stood by the sidelines and watched the people go round and round hehe.

We also went for nice dinner at Sugaroom in Pyrmont last night just for fun (and also to start reaping the benefits of the Entertainment Card's "Buy 1 free 1 main meal voucher").. check out the beautiful water view outside!!

Mummy had veal

Daddy had pork confit

and we all shared a bowl of fries and some chocolate dessert!

Yum yum :P~

Today, we were wandering around the city and ended up having lunch at Mamak!
Another yummy meal.

Daddy had Nasi Lemak (apparently it's Malaysia's national dish ??? or so it says on their menu) with curry chicken and sambal sotong.
He dug in so fast, couldn't even take a photo in time!!!

Mummy had Maggi mee goreng
Daddy and Mummy shared some satay

and I had a Roti Pisang with ice cream!!! Again, couldn't take a nice photo!
So full after that!!! Had to roll ourselves into the car and back home for an afternoon nap!
Looks like eating is the best way to beat the winter blues!
Hopefully we don't become roly polys over the next 2 months!!!
